As a toddler, Avry Lewis-McDougall was drawn to the NBA on NBC and turning the pages of The Hockey News. He watched hours of football and baseball and could rhyme off the 50 greatest NBA players before he knew basic arithmetic. His passion for sports was cultivated by his parents, who were nothing but supportive. With an opinion on everything sports, Avry searched for a outlet to share his passion. At the age of 15, Avry hosted his first live to air, online sports show, uninterrupted, unscripted for 60 minutes on Blogtalkradio.com in 2008.

7 years later, Avry’s Sports Show has put out over 500 episodes, the podcast and video rants touch on everything from what’s going on in the world of sports as well as guests ranging from the likes of Mike Modano, Warren Moon and Mark Trumbo. By planes, trains and automobiles, the young reporter has taken his show beyond his home base of Edmonton, and has aired episodes if Las Vegas, Quebec City, Chicago and Vancouver to name a few places.

During his two years at Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT), Avry anchored another morning sports talk show and was the studio analyst for NAIT varsity hockey games and in his final semester was an anchor//reporter on the campus news show, NAIT NewsWatch. A strong list of accomplishments support a young man who’s still in his early 20s. Avry’s Sports Show airs on the Avry’s Sports Show YouTube channel and his articles can be found here on avrysports.com.
